The National Association of Home Builders puts the average cost to build a home in the US at $485,128. The cost to construct an average home is well over $100 per square foot. Many cases this cost is closer to $200 per square foot. The construction material costs for 2021 continues to change. We don’t see this trend changing until American workers and the rest of the world gets back to producing and shipping materials.
